JUNE Challenge is here... ya ready to string some bugs??

So I’ve been thinking….   How to get more people to join in the fun of a challenge and then I had a bright idea (rare but they do happen!)  What if I could open up the challenge more, some people have different or bigger goals so here goes a long explanation that I hope makes sense…

The JUNE BUG challenge will consist of whatever goals you want to pledge…   clear as mud?    Maybe this will help…….

Some people might want to stick with the weight loss pledges, which is great, I’m planning on loosing at least 12 pounds this month! That would put me at 240!

Some people might want to pledge to exercise; some folks might feel like they need to “kick it up" some, so they might pledge to work out a bit more or take a bit longer walk in the beautiful weather.  I’m planning on doing at least 3 Y classes a week this month, in addition to work on my training program for a 3K walk. (I found the 10 week training program on the Walk from Obesity website.)

Some people might want to pledge to lose inches, which is a healthy goal as well.  I’d love to lose a total of 5 inches this month.   When I measure myself, I use my neck, my chest, my waist, my hips, my upper arm and my thigh, so that would be a bit off of all of them.

OR….   some might want to pledge a little bit on all three!!!   Which is what I’m going to pledge…   12 pounds, 3 classes a week at the Y, and 5 inches.

You can pledge on one, two or all three, these challenges are all for to help your reach the goal you want to reach!  I am just trying to figure out how to make it so more people will join and have fun.

Challenges are open to all, pre-op & post-op,  you can even pledge to maintain where you are if you are at goal..

So does all this make sense?  If not please do not hesitate to ask… cause if you don’t understand then someone else doesn’t either!   I just want more people to join the challenges and have a great time getting healthy!  I have a spread sheet all ready, so please join the challenge and pledge whatever you want to achieve!  You can PM me or you can post to this thread...

It is all so that we can all be……

Excellent!  I'm in for two pledges:

1.  Starting weight: 221 pounds.  Goal weight:  210.  Aim to lose 11 pounds of June bugs.

2.  Now that I have joined the PT gym, I challenge myself to go work out at minimum 3 times per week.

So that's it for me, lose 10 lbs and commit to going to the gym 3x per week.

Yaaaay!  JUNE!!!
HUGS!!!

So creative....thanks so much for putting these monthly challenges together....they are just wonderbar!!!

Okay....so, Tim & I (& our kiddos) are meeting my brother, sister-in-law & niece at Disney World at the end of June (June 29th to be exact).  We hadn't planned on going this year, but we haven't seen them since Julianne was one (they live in Northern California---gosh, that was five years ago...good grief!) and we decided it has been too long & we are going to meet in Florida so we can all hang out for a week at Disney.  I looked at my Atkins journal for 2003 & I weighed 227 pounds the last time I saw them.  Pretty ironic since that is about what I weigh right now.  They never saw me at 293.  Come to think of it, probably the reason I wasn't too motivated to fly back to California & visit everyone.

So, it's great that I now weigh what I weighed when I saw them last, but I'd really like to improve on that & there is nothing like a little family reunion and vacation that will involve boating, jet skiing &, of course, a bathing suit to motivate!!  So, I blabbed all that to set forth my goals for June:

1st:  I'd like to string up & tear the little legs off of 15 June bugs this month.......I was 229 this morning, so that would make my goal 214 pounds.

2nd:  I am going to go to four classes at the Y every week--Monday "Just Weights", Tuesday "Cycle", Wednesday "Step" and Thursday "Cycle" and then walk/run/bike my 3 mile trek either Fri or Saturday---probably Saturday so I have Friday to rest.

3rd:  I have no idea how many inches this will be, but I went from size 24 pants to my size 18s I bought last month feeling pretty roomy.  I probably am in 16s now, but I'd really like to be in size 14s by the Disney trip.  They say that 10 pounds lost is a size, so, I am hoping to be able to wear 14s on our trip and Large tops (I am out of Women's "X" sizes now, but wearing a Misses XL & I'd like that to be a Large.

Gheeze...why do I feel like I want to delete the 2nd goal about the Y 4x/s per week.  NOPE...I'm ready!  Pray for my left knee (well, both, really) to hang in there!!

NEXT.......xo, Micheala.

Put me down for 20 bugs. That would make me 236.
I hope I can do that the first month. We'll have to see.

Ok, I'm going to give this a try! I just had my surgery yesterday... so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to lose this month... or when I'll be able to get back to exercising... well, walking anyway!

I'm going to go with 20 pounds this month. I think that's attainable, because I'm not going to actually get to eat until July basically. I have liquids until day 14 and then mushies until day 28. And I'm going to try to get myself walking (and not just around the house trying to get rid of the gas!) soon. I don't want to pu**** but I know it will help! I kind of want to pledge like how many minutes I think I could do this month... but i have no idea. So, I'm going to stick with just 20 pounds... and maybe next time I'll add some exercise time into my challenge!

Good luck to everyone! I know we can all attain our goals this month!!

Started my new life on June 1, 2009. And I can't wait to see the new me!
